ASUS CUV4X The Asus CUV4X is a motherboard based on the Via chipset, and supports a socket 370 processor interface. This enables the motherboard to support both the Pentium III based Coppermine CPUs as well as Celeron Mendocino CPUs. The board, which has dip switches instead of jumpers, can perform in jumper-free mode which enables configuring processor settings and core voltage settings through the BIOS itself. Three DIMM slots provide for a maximum of 1.5 GB of RAM capacity. The motherboard also comes with 4 PCI slots with an ISA and an AGP slot. We tested the board with a P-III 550 Coppermine processor with 128 MB SDRAM, GeForce and Creative Sound Blaster Value soundcard. It scored a high 25.3 in the Business Winstone, and 92 fps in QuakeII. The accompanying manual is good and descriptive, and the board ships with anti-virus software PC-Cillin. |
